What We're Reading Before We Watch the Book-to-Screen Adaptation in Fall 2025

Ok, so we’re biased – we run a bookstore and we usually think the book is better than the movie! But does that stop us from watching and enjoying movie and tv adaptations of books we’ve read? Absolutely not.

It’s fun to see how our favorite books get interpreted in different formats! We’re double dipping on The Summer I Turned Pretty by revisiting the book series by Jenny Han, and that got us thinking about even more upcoming book-to-screen adaptations coming up in the second half of 2025. Let’s get these read so we can enjoy these stories twice!

Thursday Murder Club

Based on the bestselling murder mystery novel by Richard Osman, a film adaptation starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley is coming out on Netflix August 28.

You know all about this one! "Wicked: For Good," part two of the hit film based on a musical based on Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel “Wicked” is coming to theaters November 21.
