Fairy Tales Today

I had a Brothers Grimm book as a child that I read OVER and OVER and OVER. And it even had gold leaf sprayed edges, before sprayed edges were a thing.

One of my favorites was Rumpelstiltskin so I was very excited to see this retelling by Mac Barnett with illustrations by Carson Ellis. I loved revisiting this fairy tale but especially because the illustrations feel like a throw back, like this could be a copy I had back in the 70s & 80s.

I wonder—to the parents out there—do you still read fairy tales to your kids? How about The Brothers Grimm? If not, try this one out. They will love it.
